An open letter to the Alumni

An open letter to the Alumni and well-wishers of Little Rock

Little Rock’s most valued asset is the good-will and sense of profound gratitude that our old students have towards the school. To be absolutely frank, our old students are our most trusted ambassadors. Actually we don’t have any advertisement campaign for the school. No admission notification is ever given in the media, or in public places.

We believe that our old students are our most loyal ambassadors, and the reputation of the school is borne out by the experience of our old students. Old students continue to profess that Little Rock is the best thing that happened in their life, and it has changed everything about their life. I hope you too share this perception. This being the testimony of our old students, we never needed to advertise for the school at any time.

So far we have not campaigned for funds from the old students. A few old students on their own have contributed for scholarships, prizes, freeships and the like, but we have never approached old students for any financial support so far. Now the time has come to seek the financial support of our alumni. We have undertaken a big project, a new building of three floors. This building will house one entire section (maybe Classes VII and VIII) with its classrooms, Library, Computer Lab, teachers’ rooms etc. The top-most floor will house an auditorium named after our founder. It will be named the Dr. C.T, Abraham Memorial Auditorium. I am sure old students will have ever-green memories of our Founder and will appreciate this commemoration.

The estimated cost of this project is over Rs 6 crores, plus furnishing of another one crore. This is a big burden for a school which charges no capitation fees or involuntary donations for admissions. We have stuck to the principle that we will provide quality education at reasonable cost. Obviously we do not have enough funds to undertake this project, but still relying on God’s benevolence, we have launched the project.

We appeal to our old students who are well-placed in life to come forward to support their alma mater at this critical juncture. Those who read this appeal may share this information with their friends as well.

We would expect a minimum of Rs 5000 from each old student. Higher amounts will surely be welcome. We shall recognize those who contribute higher amounts in the following categories:

  •    Supreme Benefactor : Rs 5 Lakh and above
  •    Great Benefactor: Rs 2 Lakh and above
  •    Loyal Patron : Rs 1 Lakh and above
  •    Patron : Rs 50,000 and above
  •    Major Donor: Rs 10,000 and above
  •    Donor: Rs 5000 and above

Names of those who contribute Rs 50,000 and above will be inscribed on marble tablets inside the Auditorium. We would like to have your response immediately.

Please remember ‘when you give for a good cause, you are twice blessed’. God will surely bless you when you show your gratitude to your alma mater.
